Cambodian Boxer Takes Less Than 5 Minutes to Beat His Opponent at Thai Fight Event

BANGKOK: Cambodian boxer Prum Samnang has won the first round of a Thai Fight event, defeating English boxer, Thomas Carpenter, on Sunday night, 5 February 2023, in Bangkok, Thailand.

Prum Samnang, 38, defeated his opponent in the first round by kneeing his opponent in the chest, putting him down for the count in the 78 kg weight category.

Prum Samnang is 1.83 meters tall and weighs 78 kilograms. He has 140 wins, 12 losses and three draws. Thomas Carpenter, 29, is 1.86 meters tall, weighs 78 kilograms, has 69 wins, 17 losses and two draws.

Lt. Gen. Hun Manet wrote a message congratulating Prum Samnang for winning the first round of the Thai Fight event.

Prum Samnang's latest victory has made Cambodians very proud to see the efforts of Cambodian boxers to make Khmer martial arts more widely known around the world. Many have also donated money to Prum Samnang to support his participation in the Thai Fight arena.
